About Department
The Department of Physics was started in the year 1983 with Under Graduate Programme. Currently the allotted seats is 24 affiliated to Sambalpur University. The total intake is 24 no. of students for each year. Many eminent faculties have contributed the most in the past and in recent years. The integrity of the department can be easily recognized by the achievements of the students. The department is aware and paving its way to improve student’s carrier in every respect.

The departments vision is to make students understand the concepts and consequences of several physical phenomenon.
- To aid students in grasping fundamental concepts within focused domains in different branches of physics.
- To foster the development of competency and proficiency that promote engagement in research and development endeavor as well as practical applications in daily life.
- To inculcate the scientific mindset and attitudes.
- To provide a standard level of education in the field of Physics and promote them for professional courses.
- To provide students with basic skills in solving scientific and technical area of interest.
- To promote scientific research in students’ creativity. To nurture the innovative capabilities of students by providing them with a research platform and exposure to current technology.
