About NCC –

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has its genesis in the ‘University Corps’ which was created under the Defence Act, 1917. But NCC was finally established after Kunzru Committee’s recommendation at the behest of our first Prime Minister Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. The NCC came into existence on 16th July, 1948 under the NCC Act XXXVI of 1948, under the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The strength of NCC cadets in Larambha College is 54. NCC has been a part and parts of this college since 1970. Due to NCC, the poor SD and SW cadets are being benefited. The cadets get bonus marks in paramilitary forces recruitment i.e. BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, etc. If interested, the cadets can easily join the armed forces and contribute to the nation.
The cadets of Larambha College are serving in Indian Army, Navy and Airforce. They are indeed the flight of Odisha and India.
Larambha College aims to instil this disciple, brotherhood, courage, the spirit of self-less service, love and respect, mutual understanding and growth in the cadets. We nurture the cadets to become an ideal citizen of our country.

The aims of NCC as approved:
- To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.
- To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the Nation.
- To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
